PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: Please make yourself familiar with the Inclement Weather Policy in place for Cascade Christian Schools. Beginning in 2010-11, we adopted new procedures to address concerns and ensure the safety of our staff and families while continuing to provide quality care for parents with Child Care and/or Extended School Enrichment needs.

CASCADE CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS – INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:We will follow the Puyallup School District’s school closure and late arrival announcements during inclement weather. The Puyallup School District best represents weather and road conditions in the CCS district overall.
For Traditional Preschool, Elementary School, Junior High, and High School:
  • “Puyallup School District Closed”. CCS preschool, and all grades K-12, closed.
  • “Two hours late”. No morning preschool or morning half-day kindergarten. Classes for full day kindergarten through high school begin two hours late. Afternoon preschool and kindergarten begin as usual.
  • “One hour late”. School is conducted as usual, but one hour late.
  • “Mid-day weather closure” after school has begun for the day; following Puyallup School District, at the Superintendent’s discretion.
For Child Care (Infant through Pre-K), and Elementary Extended School Program:
  • During late starts, these programs will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., unless otherwise specifically announced.
  • During school closures, these programs will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise specifically announced, except for Puyallup Elementary Extended School program ONLY, which is closed during school closures. All enrichment classes will be cancelled and rescheduled.
  • During non-school days (i.e., Christmas break, national holidays), in the event of extreme inclement weather, the child care and elementary Extended School programs may need to have reduced hours or may need to close. Information can be obtained by calling the campus elementary or ECC office. Click here for campus listing.
It is always the parents’ decision whether inclement weather conditions prevent them from safely transporting their child to school. If parents believe driving conditions are unsafe, they should report their child’s absence to the school.

SCHOOL CLOSURE INFORMATION ON THE WEB:
As a courtesy to our constituents, the Superintendent will post snow delays or closure announcements on Schoolreport.org, which automatically updates area radio and television stations of our status. Posting to Schoolreport.org typically occurs by 6 a.m. via the web (see below). Parents, employees, and others with interest may view notices regarding Cascade Christian Schools’ closure information on their home or work computers by visiting www.schoolreport.org, clicking on Private Schools, and then clicking on Cascade Christian Schools. These individuals may also receive notices to their cell phone or pager by subscribing on the home page of www.schoolreport.org.

NOTE: When adjusting for inclement weather, the Puyallup School District considers their early-release Wednesdays as “regular” school days.
