Dedicated to Developing Discerning Leaders

Cascade Christian Schools is proud to announce

our new Variable Tuition program for the 2018-19 school year!

Did you know? Thanks to generous donors and fundraising efforts, full tuition at Cascade Christian is no more than approximately 85% of the total cost of each student's education.

In addition, through our Variable Tuition program, tuition at Cascade Christian is not "one-size-fits-all." It is a range that spans from 55% to 85% of the total cost of a quality, Christian education. Our Variable Tuition program allows us to adjust a family's tuition rates to help meet their unique financial position.

(For licensed child care rates, please contact the CCS Early Learning center of your choice.)

Variable Tuition FAQs:

What is Variable Tuition?

The Variable Tuition program allows families to apply for an adjustment of their tuition based on each family's individual financial situation, making a Cascade Christian education affordable to qualified students who could not otherwise join our school community.

How does Variable Tuition work?

Any family of a Preschool/Kindergarten Prep through twelfth grade student may apply for Variable Tuition if they are concerned about affording the full tuition rate at Cascade Christian Schools.

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the amount of tuition a family is able to pay, including income, assets, unusual expenses, and the size of the family. Additional resources (in addition to regular income) available for the family in a given year must also be considered when determining Variable Tuition awards available at Cascade Christian.

It is not possible for a family or the school to estimate the tuition level for which a family qualifies without the completion of a Variable Tuition application. Applications are submitted directly to FACTS Grant and Aid, a third-party agency. FACTS evaluates the application based on criteria set by the school and makes a recommendation to the school’s Variable Tuition team. Families are notified of the tuition level for which they qualify from Cascade Christian Schools' Business Department.

Unfortunately, CCS is not able to provide Variable Tuition to every deserving student. We work within the available resources to make the school accessible to as many students and families as possible.

What kind of economic situation is typical of a family who qualifies for Variable Tuition?

A wide range of families with a variety of circumstances qualify for the program, from those who are able to pay close to exit range (highest amount) of Variable Tuition to those who are at the entry level (lowest end) of the range. Many factors are evaluated, including income, assets, unusual expenses, and the size of the family.

Is it possible to receive a 100% Variable Tuition adjustment?

It is not. Cascade Christian Schools asks families to make a financial investment in their child’s education. Our commitment to providing Variable Tuition means that we are sharing in that investment with you.

Will Variable Tuition lead to larger classes?

No. Cascade Christian Schools strives to keep classes at sizes that will create an ideal learning environment for our students and teachers. With that in mind, we will continue to accept qualified, mission-appropriate students.

How do I apply for Variable Tuition?

Click here. This will take you to FACTS Grant and Aid, the third-party service we utilize to help us determine the amount of Variable Tuition adjustment that is appropriate for your family.  You will need to submit your federal income tax return, W-2 forms, and supporting documentation for non-taxable income to FACTS.

Upon completion of my Variable Tuition application, when will I receive confirmation of my Variable Tuition?

Once all required information has been submitted to our confidential third-party service, the process of approving and sending the Variable Tuition offer letter typically takes about two weeks. The offer letter will arrive by email.

Note: In order to receive a Variable Tuition offer letter:
  • New families must apply, have their student be accepted for enrollment, and set up their ParentsWeb and FACTS payment accounts.
  • Returning families must pay a minimum of the first installment of their Continuous Enrollment Tuition Down Payment.
What is the cost to apply for Variable Tuition?

The cost to submit an application to FACTS for Variable Tuition is $30. This nonrefundable amount is collected by FACTS, not by Cascade Christian Schools.

When can I apply for Variable Tuition for next school year?

Variable Tuition applications can be submitted as early as January 1 for the following school year. However, please be aware you must provide the most current year's tax returns for the application to be considered complete.

Are there deadlines to apply?

Yes. Please see the FAQs for new or returning families for applicable deadlines.

Should every new Cascade Christian family submit an application for Variable Tuition?

No. Only families who feel that they may not be able to pay the exit range (highest amount) of tuition should submit an application.

Do I need to apply to Cascade Christian Schools to receive confirmation of my Variable Tuition?

Yes. If you are interested in Variable Tuition, please check the "I am interested in Variable Tuition" box on the student application, and you will receive more information. In order to receive an adjusted tuition offer letter (which arrives by email), a new student application must be submitted. If the tuition adjustment still does not make it viable for your family to attend Cascade Christian Schools, all but $25 of New Student Registration fee will be refunded. (The FACTS Grant and Aid fee is not charged by CCS and is not refundable.)

Do I need to apply for admission separately from applying for Variable Tuition?

Yes. For new students, application to Cascade Christian Schools and application for Variable Tuition are two separate processes. However, new families may complete both application processes simultaneously.

Will applying for Variable Tuition hurt my student’s chance of being admitted to the school?

No. Admission applications and Variable Tuition applications are evaluated separately, and an application for Variable Tuition has no bearing on the admission process.

Are all admitted students offered Variable Tuition if the family qualifies?

CCS works within the available resources to make a private, Christian education accessible to as many students and families as possible. It is  recommended that families apply for Variable Tuition as early as possible.

Can I still apply for Variable Tuition if I enroll mid-year?

Please contact the CCS Business Department if you are enrolling mid-year and are interested in Variable Tuition.

Can international students apply for Variable Tuition?

At this time, we are unable to offer Variable Tuition to our international students. Please email the International Admissions Director for international student tuition and fees information.

Do I need to apply for Variable Tuition every year?

If I do not qualify for the program this year, can I apply again next year?

Yes. A family that does not qualify is welcome to reapply the following year.

When will the 2018-19 Tuition be available?
New tuition amounts will be posted by the second week of January, 2018.
Should every returning Cascade Christian family submit an application for Variable Tuition?

Do I need to apply for Variable Tuition every year?

How does Variable Tuition work with Continuous Enrollment?
  1. Complete your Variable Tuition application. Applications can be submitted as early as January 1 for the following school year. However, please be aware you must provide the most current year's tax returns for the application to be considered complete.
  2. Pay a minimum of the first installment of your Continuous Enrollment (CE) tuition down payment. CE payments will be posted to your FACTS account during the second full week of January. You can choose to pay the down payment in full, or in three installments in March, April, and May.
  3. Once you have paid a minimum of the first installment of your CE tuition down payment, you will be eligible to receive a Variable Tuition offer letter by email. Variable Tuition offer letters will be emailed approximately two weeks after a completed application has been submitted.
  4. Accept the offer by logging back on to your FACTS account.
Is there a deadline for applying for Variable Tuition?

To receive the maximum tuition adjustment for your circumstances, tuition accounts must be current, Continuous Enrollment down payments must be paid, and Variable Tuition applications must be completed by May 1. (For example, application must be complete by May 1, 2018 for the 2018-19 school year.)

If I do not qualify for the program this year, can I apply again next year?

Yes. A family that does not qualify is welcome to reapply the following year.

We have more than one student attending CCS and we used to get a multi-student discount. How does that work with Variable Tuition?

Multiple students are one of the key factors in determining Variable Tuition. One of the important questions asked on the confidential Variable Tuition application relates to family size and number of students enrolled at Cascade Christian Schools. If you qualify for and accept a variable tuition adjustment, you will not see a separate discount for multiple students on your statement. However, it will be part of the calculation for the Variable Tuition adjustment.
