CCS Core Purpose (Expanded)
“Transforming cultures through teaching and training
people in their purpose before God.”
Transforming cultures begins with a personal, saving relationship with Jesus Christ and continues as a lifelong process of renewal because of that relationship with Christ. That transformed life brings a renewed biblical worldview resulting in an integrated pattern of values, attitudes, and behaviors in every aspect of life—thereby influencing family, neighborhood, community, and society.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
through Teaching and Training
Teaching and training means a deliberate instructional discipling process whereby the learner acquires knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, and applies God’s truth to every aspect of life, now, and in the future.
“Train up [or start] a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
“And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.” (Psalm 78:72)
Learners at all levels.
“Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.” (Proverbs 1:5)
“Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning.” (Proverbs 9:9)
in their Purpose Before God
Purpose before God reflects the glory of God through the learner discovering how God has designed him or her with unique giftedness and specific calling.
“ 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.' ” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
