Go and Let Your Light Shine!
As we wrap up a very different school year, we are all very hopeful for a better fall school-opening scenario. However, no matter what the future holds, our purpose as Christ-followers remains the same and is nicely expressed in Matthew 5:13–16 (NIV):
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
So, that’s my prayer for each of us, that as we go into the summer season we will be mindful that we are to be salt and light for a world that desperately needs Jesus. And it is our job to show HIM to them.
Looking forward to seeing many of you next Wednesday as you come pick up and drop off your child’s things.
Make it a great week.
