God's "Calling" on Our Lives

May 14, 2020
By Tim Lorenz, Principal

As we focus this month on the idea of being “called” by God, I thought I would share a brief glimpse about how I felt called into Christian education. To be honest, a big piece of my story begins much like that of the New Testament pastor Timothy, who from a young age was taught the Word of God, believed it, got born again, and dedicated his life to serving Jesus as a minister. I too was taught the Word of God from a young age, both at home and in a small Christian school. I accepted Christ as my Savior and, like Timothy, dedicated my life to the idea of teaching others about Christ. However, instead of becoming a pastor, I chose to focus on teaching children through the avenue of Christian schooling, believing that the impact might be greater since most conversions happen at a young age when children are so receptive to the gospel. So, after over 30 years of being “called” to Christian education, I have absolutely no regrets and am more passionate than ever about raising the next generation to know, love, and serve our God!

Make it a great week!

The theme for our most recent chapel was about how Jesus came to serve, not be served. Mrs. Bryant’s first graders performed skits and a song to demonstrate ways we can all serve in our homes, school, neighborhoods, and churches.
