THE RESURRECTED KING
Easter is going to feel quite different this year and, to be honest, I am not sure what to expect. Part of the joy of Easter Sunday is celebrating at church with other believers in unity, worship, and joyous praise. There are also the parties, family gatherings, and fun cultural celebrations that add to the specialness of the holiday.
This Easter just won't feel the same. But I believe this may actually be just what we need—an Easter that is stripped down to its true essence and solely focuses on the worship of our RESURRECTED KING.
This Easter may even feel closer to the reality of resurrection day over two thousand years ago: Simple. Profound. Unbelievably amazing!
Similar to what the disciples may have done on that day, my family will gather as a small group of Jesus followers, spend time meditating on the resurrection with awe and wonder, respond with joy-filled celebration, and purpose to share this good news with others. No egg hunts, new outfits, feasts, or church choruses. Just REAL, TRUE, and MEANINGFUL worship.
Let's be ONLY about Jesus this Easter and celebrate the truth that ...
He is who He claimed to be.
He defeated sin, Satan, and death once and for all.
He makes us brand-new from the inside out.
He changes our lives for all eternity.
He is the RESURRECTED KING!
Take some time to listen to this worship video and ponder these amazing words:
"By your spirit I will rise from the ashes of defeat. The RESURRECTED KING is RESURRECTING ME."
I pray you have a tremendously meaningful Easter together with your precious families.
