Hello, Cascade Christian Family!
My name is Nathan Sutherland, and I run Gospel Tech, a ministry dedicated to helping families love God and use tech. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with students and parents across the CCS community, to raise up healthy youth in a tech world.
Three years ago, I started Gospel Tech as a ministry that helps connect the gospel to the daily tech lives of families in practical ways. As a middle school teacher, I saw the need for intentional, gospel-focused conversations about tech. Tech was creating more distraction than inspiration in the classroom, and I realized that students needed more than just new habits—there was a desperate need for new hearts.
Gospel Tech bridges the gap between scary tech conversations and the hope of the gospel. My goal is to empower parents to talk about healthy tech, communicate the gospel, and apply the gospel to their daily tech lives.
Two ways Gospel Tech supports parents on their tech journey:
- Live Parent and Youth Workshops: These presentations build a common groundwork with which parents and students can understand their purpose in Christ and apply the gospel to daily choices. We learn that there are two types of tech (Tool & Drool Tech), that healthy tech can be assessed with a RESET, and that there are steps to making our homes safe for tech in the age of the Internet.
2. The Gospel Tech Podcast: The Gospel Tech Podcast is a weekly encouragement for parents who feel outpaced and overwhelmed at raising healthy youth in a tech
world. We’ve teamed up with CRISTA Ministries’ Purposely podcast network to reach more families with the hope of the gospel.
