As we geared up for Thanksgiving here at the Frederickson Campus, we were reminded of unity and togetherness. This past year has brought many new families to the CCS family, and once they’re here at Frederickson, one would never be able to tell that we haven’t all been together since the beginning. The staff and students on our campus are always jumping in to cheer up and support one another. Our support staff greets students, rain or shine, to ensure that their day starts off with a smiling face and positive mindset!
Students look forward to our Family Chapels, when the older grades pair with the younger grades to teach chapel. During our recent Family Chapel, all the students were engaged and enthusiastic, and they actively participated. A great group of outstanding 4th graders were recognized by the 6th graders and were each given a 3R award for being responsible and respectful, and for enjoying fellowship in their relationships with one another.
The students also gathered this month to celebrate one another at our Awards Chapel. There we heard uplifting words and congratulations for those who have exemplified Christlike attributes, worked hard, made outstanding strides toward their goals, and overcome challenges. Students were recognized with the awards of 3Rs (Respect, Responsibility, Relationship), Outstanding Achievement, and Spiritual Award, as well as the Terrific Student Award from the specialist teachers. It was encouraging to see students recognized in this moment of celebration.
The support and love that we have here at the Frederickson Campus is truly UNSHAKEABLE. It is no secret that 2020 and 2021 have brought unforeseen circumstances and changes for everyone. Our school community has banded together to help families with these sudden circumstances and events that are occurring in their lives outside of school. Our PfC (Parents for Cascade) group has graciously set up meal trains for families, brought in and organized food for the teachers, and organized other countless service acts to help families and staff. Our own students often jump in to help—a sweet, thoughtful young man even helped Mrs. Lisa hand out pizzas for Fun Lunch!
The Frederickson staff prayed for our families and students while they were away on their Thanksgiving break adventures. We hope everyone enjoyed fellowship with family and friends!
