February marks the beginning of 2nd semester at the high school, so that means a lot of exciting times are on the horizon.
I-Term preparations are in full swing. Teams are set and students are gearing up to serve and share the gospel locally in Washington, across the U.S., and around the world! Our I-Term chapel is set for March 18, and some teams will begin serving the following day! This year we have 16 teams that will be serving either our own CCS community or elsewhere in our county and state. We will have 1 trip within the U.S. outside the state of Washington, as well as 4 international mission trips. Overall, 370 students will be led by our amazing staff to proclaim God’s goodness and show His love to all!
Spiritual Emphasis Week is scheduled to begin March 4. Students will be challenged and given the opportunity to refocus on the Lord amid all the busyness of this school year. Our theme for the week is “I can receive God’s joy in difficult circumstances.” Kramer Payne, lead pastor of Heart Church in Gig Harbor, will be sharing with students during an all-school chapel. The 6th graders will be invited to join us at this chapel, resulting in about 850 students, staff, and chaperones worshiping our King Jesus together. This has been one of my favorite school days in previous years, and I am confident this year won’t be any different.
Lastly, we can’t forget Midwinter Break! I am excited for our students and staff to get some much-needed rest and relaxation. I pray that everyone stays safe and returns refreshed.
Thanks for reading and …
Go, Cougs!
