This past Friday, we honored the Class of 2023, the 29th graduating class of Cascade Christian Schools. At this event, 54 students walked across the stage and moved their tassels to the other side of their caps, symbolizing the completion of their educational journey at CCS.
Today, we want to highlight the academic accomplishments of our two valedictorians: Carson Frost and Sarah Son.
Carson Frost
“It has been a great privilege getting to know and work with Carson over the past four years. He has been in my class for all four years of high school and has proven to be among the most reliable, hard-working, and intelligent students I have taught in my career. Carson is the epitome of academic excellence, and I look forward to the great things he will accomplish in the future.”
–Sean Manchester, HS Mathematics Teacher
Here is an excerpt from Carson’s speech at graduation:
“To my classmates, as you reflect on your time at Cascade Christian and the people in your life who have helped shape who you are today, do not take for granted your growth in the classroom, with the help of our teachers, who have been there every step of the way. And to our teachers, even though many of your sacrifices go unnoticed, the impacts of those sacrifices don’t. In fact, that impact will be walking across the stage today, and our class thanks every one of you for that.”
Sarah Son
“What an honor it has been to know and educate a student as brilliant, dedicated, humble, and kind as Sarah Son. For four years, I have had the privilege to have Sarah in one of my high school science classes. From physical science and biology to AP Chemistry and AP Biology, Sarah has never given me less than her absolute best. She is one of the hardest workers I have come to know and has truly set the bar for what I consider academic success. I have no doubt she will do remarkable things in the coming years.”
–Chelsea Spaniel, HS Science Teacher
Here is an excerpt from Sarah’s speech at graduation:
“I want us to make just one promise to ourselves tonight to have one common thing in our life—our faith in God. Whatever we do in our lives, we should never abandon our faith, because no matter how successful we become, where we get to live, and what we do, everything is worthless if we have a broken relationship with God. When we were students here, we were continually encouraged to reflect and grow in our faith through chapels and Bible classes. But as we move on to our next stages of life, we are all on our own. As we lead our own life, we need to be more proactive and persistent in growing our relationship with God.”
