High School Blog

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! At the high school, we are excited for students to return to campus. We plan on being intentional with our students as we establish roots on campus for this year’s spiritual theme, ROOTED.

Before students attend a single class, we will have an assembly that shares the spiritual theme with our students. The following week, our first chapel will be an all-school chapel (grades 7-12), led by our director of spiritual formation, Joshua Stines; our junior high principal, Jenny Walling; our dean of students, Brian Wilson; and me. This all-school chapel will feature fantastic worship in addition to the sharing of God’s Word, centered around Colossians 2:6–7.

We will end the launching of our spiritual theme on September 30 at our annual youth conference. This event, hosted at Black Diamond Camp's conference center, will feature two sessions of worship and a message, games, food, and tons of fun. This year’s speaker will be Kramer Payne, who is currently the pastor at Heart Church NW. Cascade Christian alumnus, Luke Breton Van Groll, who is the lead pastor at West Coast Church, will lead our students in worship during the afternoon session. We are grateful for both of these men and their desire for our students’ souls to be secured with Jesus.

I speak for the whole staff when I say that we are eager for this school year and excited to see the ways God works in and through the lives of our students.
