I hope you all are feeling encouraged by the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year. I want to extend a warm welcome to all our returning students, families, and staff, and a special welcome to our new members of the CCS family.
I'm thrilled to share that our recent launch of the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program was a resounding success! Over 100 father figures and their students from across our district gathered to volunteer, play games, and enjoy pizza together. We had many new dads join us for the first time this year. It was incredible to see the bonding and partnership of such an integral part of the CCS community—our dads!
During the launch we explored Ephesians 6:4 (NIV), “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” We as Christians are expected to be highly involved in raising our own children, and our Watch D.O.G.S. are dedicated to teaching our children about God's love through both education and example. This initiative is a wonderful way for fathers to become more involved in their child's education and foster a positive school environment—and to get to know other dads within the district!
Safety and Security remains an important area of focus at Cascade Christian Schools. To enhance our security measures, I’m happy to announce we've increased the presence of security guards from Veteran's Security Operations (VSO) on every campus. These dedicated professionals are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff. In and around campus, you will see security guards who have a passion for ensuring our students and teachers can thrive in a safe educational environment.
In addition, we've partnered with Integrated Security Group (ISG) to provide district-wide training for all teachers and staff in Stop the Bleed Training®, lockdown procedures, and emergency response protocols. Over 200 CCS employees have now received this valuable training, equipping them with the skills to handle potential emergencies effectively.
Extending beyond physical security, CCS wants to approach safety and security holistically, taking initiatives to ensure the well-being of our students’ minds and souls as well. Join us for a special presentation by Nathan Sutherland from Gospel Tech on September 26, 2024, from 7:00-8:15 p.m. at the CCS high school. Mr. Sutherland will discuss how parents and schools can work together to establish healthy boundaries for students regarding cell phones and social media. This timely event will provide valuable insights and practical strategies for navigating the digital landscape in today's world.
We are so blessed to have community and business partners that truly value Cascade Christian Schools and are willing to partner with us in our initiatives as a district. I'm grateful for the continued support of our community and the dedication of our staff in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for our students. Together, we can build a strong and vibrant future for Cascade Christian Schools.
