CCS International Blog
Never Away from Home and Family
I can say without any hesitation that attending CCS was one of the best things that I did in my life. CCS always encouraged me to challenge myself and helped me grow academically and as a person. Looking back, I loved how international students had their own Bible class just for them. Mr. Swarthout had always slowed down for us whenever we raised up for questions and had made sure we understood fully. And most importantly, I made most of my lifetimes friends there in the Bible class.
I decided to do my undergrad in New York because for University, I wanted to push my boundary and step out of my comfort zone. Life in New York was completely different from Puyallup. The biggest difference was that in Puyallup, I had to drive everywhere, but in New York, I could walk everywhere. Of course in the beginning, I missed my life in Puyallup so much, shopping at Walmart, going to Puyallup Fair eating elephant ears, etc. And I still miss it a lot. However, I fell in love with New York not long after.
I graduated from NYU in May 2014. Now I work in the finance industry, traveling here and there. Also, I got engaged this month! We are planning on marrying next year. It's one of my wishlist to take my fiancee to CCS and show him where I grew up!
This is a photo of me, Evelyn (class of 2009) and Jamie (class of 2011). I visited Jamie in Seattle two years ago. We drove to CCS to remind ourselves of all the good memories we made there.
