It has been an exciting year for the Cascade Christian Band Program, filled with many new performance opportunities for our band students. All band students can participate in the CCS Pep Band, which plays at all football and basketball home games as well as pep assemblies throughout the year. The Pep Band also played at the last home volleyball game, which made for an exciting night of school spirit. Jazz Band provided music for the recent Night of Generosity event and blessed students with music in the high school lobby as they came to school on the last day of the quarter. All the CCS bands are also looking forward to attending the Heritage Festival in Seattle, hosted by Worldstrides in April.
What first brings in the Christmas season for you? For many, the first signs that Christmas is coming is the presence of Christmas music. You might be passionate about waiting until after Thanksgiving to start listening to Christmas music, but musicians cannot afford such thoughts. Christmas comes earlier for musicians as we must start practicing Christmas music long before Thanksgiving so that we are ready to perform once Thanksgiving passes. The CCS music students have been working hard and are excited to share their talents at the upcoming Christmas concerts:
The JH/HS Instrumental Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. will feature the Jazz Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Strings program. The student body will get to see a preview of this concert during the school day on December 13.
The JH/HS Choral Christmas Concert has been postponed to Thursday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. and will feature the Cante, VOX, and Voci Potenti choirs.
We would love for you to join us as we celebrate our Savior’s birth through music this Christmas season.
