GUEST BLOG: A Season of Gratitude

December 01, 2021
By Jr High Campus

Happy Thanksgiving, Cascade Christian Community!

This week, we welcome Mrs. Heckman, our 8th grade Social Studies teacher, as she shares her gratitude for this season:

November is the perfect time to practice gratitude for all the blessings God has given us. I am especially thankful this month because, in addition to celebrating Thanksgiving, we also honored our military members, including my husband, on Veterans Day. It was God’s divine purpose to use my husband's service in the Air Force to bring my family to Washington and me to Cascade Christian.

Those of us who teach at CCS are blessed to be in a school where we not only enrich students academically but also spiritually. Being able to watch students grow in their relationships with God is a priceless blessing.

The beautiful truth is that without our military members and veterans, we would not have the freedom to teach the gospel like we do. I thank God every day for placing me at CCS, where I am surrounded by coworkers and a community that support me and continuously push me closer to Christ. This month and every month, I am thankful for my family, friends, and the countless freedoms we enjoy.

Check out our JH/HS Thanksgiving video shared during chapel last week:

Mrs. Heckman we are so blessed that God put you in our lives. We are grateful to have you as Ian's advisory teacher, social studies (7th) and english (8th). I couldn't have asked for a better teacher to help advise me on pre teen/teen attitude and behavior. I know Ian appreciates you guiding him into the smart, strong, patient leader he is to become. Thank you, Thank you We appreciate you!!! The Blackburn's
