Putting Feet to Our Faith and IMPACTING the World!
At Cascade Christian Schools we believe that everyone is a leader. Being created in the image of God, we believe that everyone possesses a unique set of leadership qualities. We accept the responsibility to assist and guide each person in a journey of discovery and application of their unique gifts. At CCS we have nine core principles which guide our leaders and instruction of leadership.
Providing a place where students can learn and practice these core values of leadership is important to us. One of the many things we do at the elementary level for our students is to provide the opportunity for them to go out into their community and serve in some manner. We encourage families to do this together and find things that are age appropriate, yet that can impact people around them. We call this opportunity “Feet to Faith.” It allows our students to understand that being a Christian is more than just “being.” There is a “doing” factor to it as well. One of our core values of leadership is Humble for Service. Christ became a servant, so can we do less?
We have the wonderful opportunity to offer ourselves in service to others through our Feet to Faith outreach. The students each select a project that they can engage in to be a blessing to someone else in their community and world. The only objective is to demonstrate the love of Christ to others through our actions.
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35, NIV
It is fun to hear the students talk about the projects that they are working on; helping refugees, collecting clothes, food and trash are all possible ideas. We are making a difference in our community as a school that honors God through service.
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your
good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16, NIV
