God is doing a new thing at McAlder! While I know that there may be some who are pensive about the recent changes in office management and leadership, I would like to say I am so excited! As the associate superintendent of academics at CCS, becoming an interim principal seems a bit crazy—and yet I have such a peace and holy anticipation for what God is going to do. I have had the tremendous privilege of watching your teachers pour themselves out as they prepare to receive their new students. They arrive early, and they leave late. Their creativity is unique to each of them and so fun! They are joyful, they are laughing, and they are full of excitement. They are the heart of the school, and they convince me daily that it will be well at McAlder.
This quarter the spiritual theme emphasizes that we can “be still in our minds” through knowing that God is exalted and fully in control. I am so confident in this! Isaiah 12:3-5 (NIV) reminds us, “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. In that day you will say: ‘Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.’ ” As a McAlder community, let's look to the Lord with confidence, and let’s make it our mission to look for the glorious things that He is doing.
It’s going to be a great year!
