Bible Focused

January 17, 2024
By Tim Lorenz, Principal

In preparation for Martin Luther King Day, we hosted a special speaker, Janae Pirolo, at our chapel on Wednesday, January 10.

Ms. Pirolo’s message to our students centered around the importance of hiding God’s Word in our hearts so it will be a lamp for our feet and a light on our paths (Psalm 119:105). She highlighted that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. hid God’s Word in his heart, and that is what formed his worldview that ALL people are created equal and have value as image bearers of God. Therefore, like Dr. King did, we must hide God’s Word in our hearts! For the students to do this, she challenged them to read the Bible every day on their own, even if it’s just for a few minutes, thus allowing God’s Word to lead and direct their lives.

I could not agree more. As we celebrate the important message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and all his accomplishments, let's always remember that his source of wisdom and direction was from the BIBLE!
