Celebrating Racial Equality ... this week and every week!

January 18, 2023
By Tim Lorenz, Principal

The Bible is very clear that we are all equal in the eyes of God in that every person is created in the image of God and therefore is special, unique, and valuable, and each human being is loved beyond measure by God. God is colorblind. He is interested not in our skin color, but in our HEARTS! This is something to declare and celebrate.

And so, we do celebrate this week in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. because his message and movement so eloquently line up with this same biblical truth, “that all men are created equal.” As a pastor, he had a biblical message, one that echoes what Paul declares in Galatians 3:26-29 (NIV),

“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

We will highlight and celebrate the biblical message of racial equality throughout this month in our classrooms and in chapel this week.
