Summer Child Care
for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
(available at Frederickson and Puyallup Early Learning Centers only)
Infant and Toddler Care is available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day at our Puyallup Early Learning Center. Our centers are fully licensed with the State of Washington. Experienced care givers provide loving and nurturing age appropriate curriculum for our tiniest learners.
Preschool Ages 3, 4, 41/2- 5 KPrep:
Summer Adventure Camp is the summer time component of our year-round preschool–age child care program.(Open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) At our Frederickson and Puyallup Early Learning Centers, we put aside our usual curriculum for the summer months and develop a refreshing and exciting theme-based curriculum full of summer learning and fun. With our Adventure Camp, our preschoolers will be "Up, Up, & Away!" exploring "Outdoor Adventures" and getting to "Splish Splash!"
Our goal is to meet the needs of the total child while instilling a lifelong joy for learning, and a desire to love and serve God. Chapel times, Bible lessons, praise songs, and prayer times combine to nurture children’s faith. Loving care is combined with age appropriate early learning experiences such as special guests, field trip experiences and fun summer activities.
At this time, any field trips will be taken virtually. Our hope is that it will be safe to add them back into the schedule at some point later this summer.
Bike Parade Days, Spirit Days (i.e., Pajama Day & Crazy Hair Day) and Sprinkler
Days are a few examples of the special summer activities that our preschoolers enjoy. (Activities vary from campus to campus.)
Early Learning Enrichment Classes
Enrichment classes for preschoolers provide opportunities for children to:
• Discover new things
• Reduce summer learning loss
• Sharpen skills and gain confidence
• Learn through hands-on fun
• Get ready for school
• Make new friends
• Grow in faith - A Biblical worldview is integrated throughout the curriculum.
In the STEM Adventure Camp, your K-Prep student will experience science, technology, engineering, and math activities. Preschoolers spontaneously engage in STEM activities indoors and out. With guidance from us, we can enhance children's opportunities to engage in STEM learning and develop their critical thinking skills. Each day will focus on one part of STEM, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They will get their hands dirty, brains fired up, and receive engaging take-homes to share with their families.
Little Athletes is a week filled with general fitness and motor skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, running, jumping and balance. Developmentally appropriate equipment and games are used to teach your child in a fun, exciting and positive environment. Every day your child will learn about a different sport and receive a fun take away to show their families.
Movement Adventure Under the Sky
Your preschooler will love exploring under the sky with movement, music, and props! Each day we will have a small art project creating our very own props and musical instruments. During the week your child will development an enjoyment of movement and music.
In the Art Adventure class, your child can experience different types of art mediums and experiences. These include painting, drawing, modeling and more. Your child will learn many styles of creative art, as well as the history of some of the most influential artists. Each child will have the opportunity to create many individual masterpieces, and work with classmates to create a cooperative, beautiful large group project.
A fun culinary experience awaits young chefs as they explore the world of cooking, basic utensils, cleanliness, table manners, and kitchen safety. Each day, the children will make two tasty treats, read a book about cooking and work on their own personal recipe book!
Get Ready, Set, Grow (K-Prep Ready for Kindergarten)
As the summer begins winding down, and we are getting ready to go back to school, enroll your student in this Get Ready, Set, Grow Adventure Camp. This adventure camp is designed to assist children in their transition from K-Prep to Kindergarten. We teach strategies aimed at increasing successful classroom participation in areas that include: listening and following instructions, cutting and pasting, early handwriting, writing name, sharing, taking turns, joining in, and following classroom routines.
