Merry Christmas, Friends! I am not sure if you’ll see this as good news or not, but Christmas is almost here! For me, the Christmas holiday is not just a one-day-of-the-year event, but a monthlong celebration. On the first of December, our traditions begin with Advent, countdown of sleeps till Christmas, carols, pageants, programs, presents, and parties galore! Oh, what fun!
My prayer for you as you enjoy and share your holiday traditions this month is that you will remember to make room in your heart and in your calendars to celebrate the gift of Christ. Will you take time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas? Will you bring your family to a Christmas Eve service or bake a cake to celebrate Jesus’ birthday with your children? Will you sponsor a family who is in need or extend hospitality? Will you take time to read the Christmas story with your loved ones around the tree before the presents are passed out? Luke chapter 2 is a wonderful account of God’s gift to us through Christ.
In the midst of the “most wonderful time of the year,” may your hearts be drawn to the profound love of God and His incomparable gift of Emmanuel, God with us.
Merry CHRISTmas!
