Merry, Merry Christmas, Cougar Community!
I hope this finds you enjoying the beauty of the Christmas season … Christmas lights, gingerbread houses, decking the halls, and Amazon, oh my! By far the greatest part of this time of year is the freedom we have to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ; heaven and earth intersecting in the form of a baby; God with us!
This week we had the JOY of hearing your precious children proclaiming the meaning of Christmas through Scripture, songs, and some unexpected dance moves. The only thing better than watching them take the stage waving (and shouting) to their fans is to turn around and see their fans (parents and family members) waving, crying, with phones and video cameras in hand. This is a sight I look forward to every year. And as always, there is the chasm between what was practiced and what was performed, bringing greatly appreciated hilarity.
O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens.
You have taught children and infants
to tell of your strength,
silencing your enemies
and all who oppose you.
—Psalm 8:1-2, NLT
Merry Christmas, friends!
