Overflowing with Gratitude

February 08, 2023
By Carlee Peterson, Principal

Our theme this month is GROWING IN GRATITUDE. As I reflect on these past several weeks, there is much to be grateful for!

Last Thursday in chapel, our students were reminded that we must be growing in gratitude. None of us is perfect, but practice makes progress! We were challenged to do everything without grumbling or complaining and to give thanks in all circumstances. It was great to be reminded of these truths from our guest speakers, Pastor Dan from Lifespring Church and our very own Ms. Farris. We are thankful they chose to serve and share with our students.

This quarter, we are grateful to have STEM on our campus. We are thankful that we have a special room to meet in each week, and the students are already talking about what they are learning from Ms. Perry! We can’t wait to see the creations, inventions, and learning that happen over the next several weeks.

Last week, our 4th graders made signs for our HS boys and girls basketball teams. The students worked diligently as they created special posters for each player. The students were then invited to come to the game, and they even had the opportunity to join the team and cheerleaders on the floor at the start of the game. Thank you, Mrs. Pearson, for heading this up!

We also had the privilege of having some students from our junior high, along with Mrs. Walling and Mr. Wilson, on our campus last week to talk with our 6th graders about what they can look forward to in junior high. A fun time was had by all, and we are thankful for the beautiful new building the students will head to once they complete their elementary journey!

Lastly, I would love to give a huge shout-out to the team we have on the Puyallup Elementary campus! Every day, I watch our staff teach, train, serve, disciple, and love on our students. It’s hard to believe we are halfway through the year. I am overflowing with gratefulness for the team I have the honor of leading.

Parents, register soon for two free workshops you won’t want to miss (recommended for CCS 4th through 12th grade families):

Thank you for your partnership as we teach and train students to be leaders who impact their world!
