Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-8 (NIV)
These two passages have meant a lot to me this year and have guided my thoughts each day. We have trusted God with the relocation of our campus, and we continue to rejoice in what the Lord is doing through this time. As we are reminded in Philippians, I want to take a minute to rejoice in the Lord and be thankful for the great things He has done this year!
First, I am thankful for the staff at CCS Puyallup Elementary. Our staff members have spent endless hours pouring into the lives of our students. They have come to work each day with a positive attitude and a heart of service. I am beyond grateful that they are sticking with us through our transition, and we will have a solid team next year!
Next, I am blessed by the students and families we have been able to serve this school year. Students have grown academically, socially, and spiritually. They have made new friends, tried new things, and have dug deep into God’s Word. Students led worship, prepared for and led Cougar Family Groups, and served our community recently through their Feet to Faith projects. Students have made decisions to follow Christ and put their faith in Him! Families have developed friendships. We built community through special family nights, FUN Fridays, and a couple new events this year. Parents have prayed for our school, provided for various needs, given generously, and supported our teachers. Thank you for your love, encouragement, and support.
The Lord has led us in many decisions regarding our relocation. He has provided a campus for us to move to. Our enrollment is strong for next year. Generous financial donations have been given to make the move possible. We have gained new property. The Lord has been faithful in more ways than I can count.
On a personal note, I am thankful for God leading me each day. I am thankful for the wisdom and discernment that has come from Him alone. I am thankful for my family and special times with them. And I am most grateful for the peace that He has given me through this year and for our transition. It has truly been a peace that surpasses all understanding!
I would encourage you to make a “thankful list” with your kids as you head into the summer, and I pray that your summer break will be filled with many wonderful memories!
Thank you for being an amazing part of our community!
