Welcome Principal Lorenz
Introducing Mr. Tim Lorenz, New McAlder Campus Principal
Principal Tim Lorenz has been part of Christian education for most of his life, as a student, teacher, and as an administrator.
Mr. Lorenz has been the principal of Shorewood Christian School (PK-12) in West Seattle for the past twenty years, and has had success in growing a Christian School.
“Cascade Christian Schools lines up very well with my vision and philosophy of Christian education and I know and respect the leadership at Cascade Christian,” Lorenz said.
“My desire is to continue to pursue my passion for Christian education, for the purpose of raising up the next generation to know and serve Jesus Christ,” he added.
Mr. Lorenz has a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Teaching with a major in Social Studies, and a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Christian School Administration, both from Oral Roberts University. He began his career in Christian education at Christian Faith School, then after eight years there, transitioned to the principal position at Shorewood Christian.
In addition to teaching and pastoring, Mr. Lorenz has coached volleyball, basketball, and tennis; has been a worship leader for 15 years, and served as an interim youth pastor.
As a Christian school principal, Mr. Lorenz feels it is his responsibility to “be a good shepherd” to the staff, faculty, parents, and students at his campus by leading in love, humility, and unity. Communicating well is a priority for him. “It is also my responsibility to pray and build them up in Christ so they can achieve their full potential,” he adds.
“I have known and worked with Mr. Lorenz for twenty years and have admired and appreciated the way he has built his school as the leader. We are excited to have that same leadership at our growing McAlder campus!” said CCS Superintendent Don Johnson.
Why CCS? Mr. Lorenz says, “I am passionate about Christian education and the importance of passing on God’s truths to the next generation. I see Cascade Christian Schools similarly passionate, and they have created an excellent school system that is doing just that.”
The McAlder campus feels like family to Mr. Lorenz. “The McAlder campus made me feel so good when I drove up to it. It reminded me of my family roots in the Midwest.”
Lorenz and his wife Barb have four children. Their daughter Shelaine will attend CCS next year as a junior, and their international student Hedy will attend CCS as a senior.
