Seeking Guidance

January 17, 2024
By Annie Pichot, Principal

As we move into the new year, we are asking the Lord for guidance in seeking His will as we strive to honor Him with our thoughts, words, and actions. Around campus, students will be displaying what they are seeking God for in 2024, whether that be something they want to personally strive for or ways to bless those around them. As a school community, we have the opportunity to rally behind these amazing requests and lift them up to the Lord in full anticipation of watching Him work in us and through us!

This week during chapel, we will be welcoming Pastor Shawn Backus from Sound Life Church, who will be sharing a special message about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his quest to change hearts and minds so that all people are seen as having been made in the image of God. Students will learn more about the message of hope and equality through classroom activities such as art projects, reading buddies, creative writing assignments, as well as arts and crafts inspired by Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

As we take time to reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the message that he gave us, and his example of seeking God’s guidance, let us continue to seek TRUTH found in God’s Holy Word as we aim to become more Christlike in our daily lives.

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ ” (John 8:12, NIV)
