Making Room for Growth is a multimillion dollar capital campaign solving urgent needs by creating enough space for all to attend CCS and improve their experience. To meet these needs, a 12,000 sq. ft. gymnasium was completed in 2020 for $5.1 million. In 2023, a 19,000 sq. ft. junior high classroom wing was completed for $7.2 million. Combined, these facilities provide the indoor athletic and learning space needed for current CCS students.

The next chapter of Making Room for Growth supports the outdoor athletic needs of the students. Our current outdoor athletic programs serve more than 1,500 student-athletes consisting of four soccer teams, two track and field teams, two cross-country teams, two football teams, two cheer teams, two baseball teams, two fastpitch teams, two tennis teams, one golf team, multiple elementary athletic teams (7 outdoor sports serving students from ages 3 to 12) and Thrive summer camp programs.

Every program is growing and needs safe athletic space to meet the demand, but our current outdoor athletic facilities cannot support all the athletes. The grass fields and cinder track are unusable for several months of the year and are limited to serving strictly for practice during the remaining months. The lack of lighting also limits them to daytime use. In their current configuration, the fields do not adequately serve the needs of athletes.

To meet this growing need, we’ve developed Fields of Dreams, which is a multiphase approach to the outdoor athletic component of CCS’s Making Room for Growth campaign. Located on the east side of the secondary campus, the 493,000 sq. ft. athletic complex will include artificial turf playing fields, a synthetic 8-lane rubber track, elevated golf green, lights, tennis courts, restrooms, concessions, storage, and covered stadium-style seating.

Turf and lighted fields increase usage from 1,000 hours per field each year to 10,000 hours and from serving 1,500 athletes each year to 4,000 athletes. Increased capacity allows for additional recreation programming that will benefit the community by allowing us to host home games, athletic camps, clinics and trainings, tournaments, adult leagues, and more.

The initial upgrade includes an artificial turf football/soccer field, a synthetic 8-lane rubber track and field components, an elevated golf green, lighting, and is estimated to cost $3.5 million. If funded fully, construction is planned to begin in the spring of 2024. Future upgrades include sound, scoreboards, public restrooms, concessions, storage, covered stadium-style spectator seating, artificial turf baseball and fastpitch infields, tennis courts, and additional parking.

If you have already made a gift to Making Room for Growth, thank you for your generosity. If not, there is a tremendous need and a short timeline to contribute to this important work. CCS students need your help and support. Every $2,500 given provides space for 1 student-athlete to have safe, lighted surfaces to practice and compete on at Cascade Christian ... next year and every year after that.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Ephesians 2:19-22 (NIV)
