What do you think of when you think of Christmas? Presents? Christmas trees? Hot chocolate? Or maybe snow?

I think of the Christmas programs at Cascade Christian. As a student at CCS, I cherished the Christmas and springtime programs; they were my favorite moments each year. And since Christmas is my favorite day of the year, the Christmas program had a slight edge. These early experiences with music and theatre performance were what solidified my lifelong passion for the performing arts. Now, in my first year as the music teacher at our wonderful Frederickson Campus, I am so excited to bring my own vision to life for this program.
It has been such a pleasure over the last few months to get to know each student as an individual, as a musician, and as a performer. And WOW, do these students perform well! Conducting auditions for speaking and soloist roles in our third through fifth-grade program proved unexpectedly challenging, as choosing among the talented participants was a difficult task. It has been a joy to see them working hard to learn their lines and blocking at after-school rehearsals. I am amazed at how quickly our kindergarten and first grade classes have picked up on song lyrics and hand motions. And just wait till you see our second graders perform using American Sign Language! These kiddos are sure to bring you joy on December 5.
Thank you all so much for allowing me the opportunity to live into who God made me to be. I am still floored that I have the awesome privilege to sing and make music with these amazing kids every day! I expect a lot from them, but I know they are going to continue to not only meet but exceed my expectations at our Christmas program! Can’t wait to see you all there!
