He Is Risen

March 26, 2024
By Annie Pichot, Principal

Celebrating Easter has been a big part of my family’s traditions ever since I was a little girl. We would always put on our best Easter outfits and head to church with joy in our hearts that HE IS RISEN! I loved singing praises of gratitude that Jesus had overcome the grave and witnessing people accepting the invitation to follow Him as Lord over their lives. A family meal would follow with the people who meant so much to me. Laughter, smiles, joy, and gratefulness—these are the things that are tradition in my family.

Below is a picture of my brother and me in our Easter outfits, getting ready to welcome people to church. I had the privilege of having two sets of grandparents who had committed their lives in service of the Lord as pastors. I saw firsthand how much prayer, study, and other preparation went into the chapel messages each week. I also got to see the immediate need of a pastor to console a family, pray for them, and care for them during tough times. It was with the greatest understanding that there was a calling over them to love Jesus and love people, a calling that meant devoting their lives to doing just that in the hard times and the good.

This picture of my brother and me represents the people who came before us who chose to spread the good news and proclaim the name of Jesus over our lives. This picture also represents the next generation of men and women who are called with a purpose. I am honored to serve amazing families here at Cascade Christian and join them in proclaiming the name of Jesus over our children. I pray that this Easter brings joy into your hearts and gratefulness for the things the Lord has done, from generations ago until now, that we may celebrate His resurrection and perfect plan in things to come.
