As 2023 moves forward, it is filled with lots of energy and excitement within Elementary Athletics!
This week features the winter cheer clinic, which is put on by the CCHS cheer program. The cheerleaders teach a halftime routine and then perform it together with their young students during the girls high school basketball game this Friday night! But there’s more! Friday night is also our annual elementary basketball night! Elementary basketball teams and sideline cheer teams will be featured during the boys high school basketball game that night!
Looking ahead, our spring season is sure to have something for everyone. Sports offerings will include volleyball, flag football, track, KPrep flag football, and KPrep basketball. Announcements will be made via email once registration is open.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. —Romans 5:1-5, NIV
Last week at our MLK chapel, we reviewed facts and statistics from Martin Luther King Jr.’s life. Dr. King went through hard times to change the world. He gave more than 2,500 speeches that addressed inequality, racism, nonviolence, justice, and so much more. He was a leader. We were reminded that Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most influential leaders of civil rights in the world, that everything he did was out of love and peace, and that he was able to do what he did because of HOPE! Our students were challenged to treat others with respect, to be peacemakers, to love others, and to never stop growing in hope!
As we reflect on the life and impact of Martin Luther King Jr., may we remember the promises of Romans 5. For those in Christ, we have been justified, we are at peace with God, and we have grace. When we face hard times, we can know that God is doing a great work. He will grow our character and our hope. May we boast in the hope we have in Christ!

Greetings, Cougar Family!
This weekend I was attending church and happened upon a group of five CCS parents who had gathered afterward. It was evident they were having an intense conversation. As it turns out, one mother of three CCS students was sharing how her husband, the students’ father, had been diagnosed with cancer, the tumors described as innumerable. The support, empathy, and care shown by those who were listening was profound. When I asked if we could pray, they not only agreed but proceeded to embrace one another in a holy huddle. The moment ended with hugs, offers to help with carpooling, and appointments to bring dinner to the family.
This is only one of MANY stories of how Cascade Christian Schools is not only a place where learning happens. It is a place where love happens, a place where support along the journey happens—in our grief and in our joy. It is COMMUNITY, and I am so honored and blessed to be a part of it.
“Our need to belong is not rational, but it is a constant that exists across all people in all cultures. It is a feeling we get when those around us share our values and beliefs. When we feel like we belong, we feel connected and we feel safe.” —Simon Sinek, Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action

Greetings, Cascade Christian Community,
Welcome back from Christmas break! We have much to be thankful for as we look back on the first part of the year and as we anticipate what is in store for the new calendar year.
On behalf of all the staff here at Cascade Christian, I want to express to you how much we value our partnership with you in the journey of teaching and training our students to become discerning leaders. It truly is a joy and a privilege to come alongside you in this.
I also want to be sure you are aware of the importance of reserving your students’ spots for the 2023-24 school year through completing what we refer to as the Continuous Enrollment process.
Most of your accounts are set up to have the Continuous Enrollment fee automatically assessed, in which case there is nothing for you to do. If you are not certain that is the case, be sure to check your FACTS account for the first installment, which is scheduled to be drawn on January 20. If at any point you have questions about the process, please call the Business Office at (253) 841-1776 and ask for assistance.
Thank you again for choosing Cascade Christian and may 2023 be a blessed year for you all.
