I’ve asked Jake Mosby, this year’s ASB president, to reflect on his I-Term experience here at CCS:

While being a student at Cascade Christian, I have had the opportunity and privilege of going on two I-Term trips and shortly will leave on another. The CCS I-Term program has had a great impact on my life and on those around me, as I have seen it change my outlook on the world. My sophomore year, I went on our National Parks trip and developed a better appreciation for God’s creation. I went to South Africa last year as a junior and got to serve children in the township of Masiphumulele. During that trip, I built relationships I thought would have never happened, saw the grateful hearts of impoverished children, and learned how to give thanks to God in all circumstances.

I-Term has taught me to serve with an open and loving heart while not doing anything with a selfish mindset. As I get ready to return to South Africa in one short week, I look forward to growing stronger relationships with the people I met last year, seeing my friends’ hearts changed, and getting to have new experiences and memories. The South Africa I-Term as well as the other ones have brought me so many great memories and taught me so many lessons. I can’t wait to see how they impact other students who experience them!
