Happy Easter!

It is a joy to have the opportunity to share the message of Easter boldly on our campus, since it is the pivotal event in all of history! That last statement may sound dramatic, but for Christians and non-Christians alike, it is true. For Christians, we understand that through Christ—His death and resurrection—we once were lost and now we are found. For non-Christians, Jesus is the only way to the Father and to spend eternity with Him in heaven (whether or not they believe it), and He is the only way to find true peace in this life, through complete surrender to Him.
Speaking of joy (this month’s spiritual theme), here’s how it ties into Easter:
“For the JOY set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2, NIV, emphasis added)
So, what was Jesus’ joy? Well, I am pretty sure He was able to look ahead and see YOU and ME, choosing to believe in Him, thus becoming sons and daughters of the Father. And that’s what gave Him joy.
