He Is Risen!

March 26, 2024
By Jennifer Walling, Principal

This week is Holy Week. We set time aside to celebrate the most significant events in history. Holy Week marks the time between when Jesus enters Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to His crucifixion and resurrection the following Sunday.

The resurrection of Jesus is a pivotal aspect of our faith.

We know, with historical proof, that Jesus of Nazareth lived and died … but do we believe that Jesus is who He claimed to be—God’s Son, the God of the universe, in human form?

If Jesus is who He claimed to be, His resurrection is the necessary confirmation of all He said and is the crux of our belief system as Christians.

“The resurrection of Jesus Christ was necessary to establish the truth of his mission and put the stamp of all-conquering power on his gospel.”  —Edward McKendree Bounds

This week, reflect and meditate upon the glorious truth that Jesus loves you enough to come live for you, die for you, and rise to conquer sin and death for you.

If you haven’t put your trust in Him, I encourage you to research and study the resurrection. Particularly, read the story of Lee Strobel or watch the movie Case for Christ. Some of the most important questions for you to answer for yourself are, Who is Jesus? Is He a liar, is He a lunatic, or is He the Lord?

If you are a believer, this weekend is the biggest celebration for us! We begin the weekend by honoring and weeping over our suffering Savior, but we end it by worshipping our glorious risen Lord!

I hope you all have a meaningful, powerful celebration this Easter weekend. He is RISEN!
