Praise Be To God For His Indescribable Gift!

November 20, 2024
By Sue Armstrong - Orchestra, Bryan Botka - Band, and Kurt McKee - Choir

Amid the hustle and bustle of daily life, music serves as a powerful tool for reflection, inspiration, and celebration!

This fall, our junior high and high school music students have had the opportunity to add to the atmosphere of many school events. Shades of Blue, the jazz band, and the orchestra drew a crowd at the Washington State Fair and also helped set the mood at the Night of Generosity. Our symphonic band heralded members of the National Honor Society, and our pep band continues to bring energy to assemblies and sports events. The band, choir, and worship team joined forces at our poignant Veterans Day assembly. Finally, our very first Fall Fest: Music and Mingle, showcasing student-led combos and ensembles, was a musical highlight!

Next comes Christmas! There is always a buzz of excitement in the band and choir room as the Christmas music is passed out and rehearsals begin. As teachers, we are also filled with excitement and anticipation for our students. Christmas music is the power tool on the music educator’s workbench, guaranteed to accelerate the learning process and build group dynamics in half the time!

Our music selections are designed not only to inspire us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, but also to help us Be Still and reflect on that holy night when humanity was given the most special gift of all time.

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15, NIV)

We hope that our upcoming performances will be a special gift for you and your family this Christmas. We invite you to join us for our choir and orchestra concert at Bethany Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m., and for our band concert in the JH/HS Forum Deo Gloria (PAC) on Thursday, December 12, at 7:00 p.m.
