As summer winds down and a new school year begins, our campus is buzzing with preparation. Our high school teachers and staff have been hard at work praying, planning, organizing, and setting up classrooms, all in anticipation of welcoming our students back. The beginning of a new academic year always brings with it a sense of renewal, excitement, and possibility, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for our school community this year. We’re truly eager to fill our hallways and classrooms once again with the voices, laughter, and energy of our students.
We are also ready to dive into our spiritual theme for this school year: Called for a Purpose, which comes from Ephesians 4:1:
“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.” (ESV)
Throughout the school year, we will be studying the book of Ephesians. I encourage you all to join us at home and study this powerful letter from Paul that speaks deeply to our identity in Christ and what it means to live faithfully in a world that needs His light. Whether that means reading along in your personal devotional time, discussing it around the dinner table, or simply reflecting on the truths of Scripture together, we invite you to journey with us. There is something truly transformational about being unified as a community in God’s Word. I am excited God will move in our hearts and lives this year—a year of growth, unity, purpose, and joy.
We have some exciting events happening in the first week of school:
Home Volleyball Game – Thursday, September 4
Our volleyball team is hosting 4A Graham-Kapowsin High School at 6:30 p.m. in The Valley. It’s going to be a great match and an even better opportunity to come together as a community. Wear your Cougar gear and bring your school spirit!
Home Football Game – Saturday, September 6
Join us and support the Cougar football team as we take on Eatonville at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Stadium in Sumner. Let’s pack the stands and support our team!
Youth Conference – Tuesday, September 9
This off-campus retreat is a highlight of the year. Students will be dropped off and picked up at Calvary Community Church in Sumner, where they’ll experience worship, teaching, small group time, and moments of spiritual reflection. This event sets the tone for the year, focusing hearts on Jesus and fostering unity among students and staff.
