Welcome to Kindergarten at Cascade Christian Schools

At Cascade Christian Schools, the journey truly begins here. Our kindergarten programs are designed to spark curiosity, nurture confidence, and lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning, all within a Christ-centered community where every child is known and valued.

Guided by our 4 Pillars (Spiritual Formation, Academic Excellence, Leadership Development, and Personal Character Development), we partner with families to help students discover their God-given potential. Our mission is clear: to develop discerning leaders who are spiritually, personally, and academically prepared to impact their world for Christ.

From the very first day, your child will experience a safe, supportive environment where they are known, valued, and celebrated. Each step they take is intentionally guided to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

And we’re excited to start that journey with you.

Kindergarten Readiness

Kindergarten readiness at Cascade Christian Schools is all about ensuring your child is prepared to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally—from the very first day.

To be considered ready for kindergarten, your child must be 5 years old before September 1 and participate in a friendly, developmentally focused assessment with our trained team. During this process, we look at key areas that help us understand your child’s unique strengths and readiness for the classroom, including:

  • Social-emotional skills — building friendships, managing emotions, and engaging well with others
  • Physical development — fine and gross motor skills that support hands-on learning
  • Language growth — expressing ideas, listening, and understanding
  • Cognitive skills — curiosity, problem-solving, and the ability to learn new concepts
  • Early literacy — emerging reading and communication foundations
  • Early mathematics — number sense and basic math understanding

Our approach is thoughtful, supportive, and centered on helping every child begin their educational journey with confidence. We want to make sure your child feels ready, excited, and set up for success in a community where he/she is truly known and valued.

A Day in Kindergarten at Cascade Christian Schools

Our kindergarten schedule is thoughtfully designed to balance engaging academics, interactive learning, creative exploration, and plenty of time for students to build friendships and confidence. Children move through a rhythm of:

  • A morning meeting and Bible integration
  • Literacy and math workshops
  • Specialist classes like P.E., music, and library
  • Recess and structured play to support social and physical development
  • Centers, projects, and small-group instruction tailored to each child’s learning needs

This balanced flow helps students feel grounded, supported, and excited for each new part of their day.

Cascade Christian Schools is a Christ-centered school district dedicated to serving families across Pierce County and has three vibrant elementary schools located in the Puyallup, Frederickson, and McAlder communities. We offer families convenient options without compromising the strong spiritual foundation, academic excellence, and personal care that define who we are.

Established in 1992, Cascade Christian Schools was founded with a bold and prayerful vision: to create a place where students, families, and staff could grow into the people God has called them to be. What began as a dream shared by faithful leaders has grown into a thriving community committed to nurturing hearts and minds for Christ.

Today, that same vision continues to guide us. Across every campus, we remain focused on partnering with families to inspire growth, cultivate character, and develop discerning leaders who reflect God’s purpose in all they do.

Wherever you join us in Pierce County, you’ll find a welcoming community where your child is known, valued, and encouraged to become all that God has designed him/her to be.
