Division Information

KPrep (Coed):

It’s time for some little Cougs to learn the sport of basketball in a practice-play format! This approach allows young athletes to play on a team and compete against other CCS KPrep teams while keeping things engaging and convenient for families.

KPrep practices/games will be held on Saturdays at the CCS Junior High/High School gyms or at CCS Puyallup Early Learning Center. Each session includes a team practice immediately followed by a game, giving young athletes the opportunity to apply new skills right away.

Cost: $90

Practice-play: 30-minute practices followed by 30-minute games (Saturday mornings)

Season: January–March

Kindergarten (Coed):

Our kindergarten program uses the same practice-play format as our KPrep program (30-minute practice immediately followed by a 30-minute game). This format is designed for fun, learning, and convenience. Players compete against other CCS kindergarten teams.

Kindergarten practices/games will be held at the CCS Junior High/High School gyms on Saturdays. Each session includes a team practice followed directly by a game.

Cost: $90

Practice-play: 30-minute practices followed by 30-minute games (Saturday mornings, 9:00–10:00 a.m.)

Season: January–March

Grades 1–2 (Boys/Girls):

League: ENL

Cost: $105

Season: January–March

Practices:

All first and second grade teams will practice once a week for the duration of the season.

McAlder/Puyallup Elementary families: Practices will be at McAlder Elementary on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (day of the week may be subject to change), between the hours of 3:30–7:30 p.m.

Frederickson Elementary families: Practices will be at Frederickson Elementary on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday (day of the week may be subject to change), between the hours of 3:30–5:30 p.m.

Please note: Practice times and locations depend on coach availability, grade, and campus enrollment and may change closer to the season.

Games:

A combination of home and away games will be played on the Saturday game dates listed above.

Grades 3–6 (Boys/Girls):

Cost: $165

Season: December–March (One or two practices and one jamboree will occur in December. Regular practices and games run from January to March.)

League: ENL

The third through sixth grade teams have the opportunity to learn and play at different levels by competing in two different divisions—Blue or Black.

  • Blue Division – Ideal for athletes who are new to basketball or still building their confidence and skills.
  • Black Division – Best suited for athletes who have played for a few years and are comfortable and confident on the court.

This year, when completing registration, parents/guardians will select the division they believe best fits their athlete’s current experience level. This helps guide the initial team placement process and league submissions.

Please note: This selection is a preference, not a final placement. Final team placements for Blue or Black divisions may be adjusted after the December Basketball Jamboree based on game results or registration numbers. Coaches will be informed of any changes.

Our goal is to place athletes where they can be challenged, be supported, and have fun, playing at the level that promotes their growth as both players and teammates.

Practices:

All third through sixth grade teams will practice 1–2 times per week: one weekday and one Sunday afternoon (between 3:00–7:00 p.m.). Games will still take place on Saturdays.

  • Puyallup/McAlder  Elementary families: One weekday practice per team at the McAlder Elementary gym on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (subject to change), between 3:30–7:30 p.m.
  • Frederickson Elementary families: One weekday practice per team at the Frederickson Campus on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday between 3:30–5:30 p.m.

Sunday practices: One Sunday afternoon practice per team will be held at the CCS Junior High/High School gyms between 3:00–7:00 p.m. With gym space in high demand during the week, this Sunday schedule allows us to offer consistent practice times and a reliable location for families throughout the season.

Games:

A combination of home and away games will be played on Saturdays (see schedule above).
