Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments are the common assessments used by the district (grades K-11) to measure student academic growth in reading, language, math, and science at the district level, the campus level, the grade level, the classroom level, and the individual student level. These tests are administered three times during the year. This data drives our district’s strategic plan in the area of academics.

At the campus level, the MAP results help each vertical team establish goals. These assessments also aid teachers in setting classroom goals and the Educational Roadmap in charting each student’s growth.

We are an independent, interdenominational school district serving childcare through grade twelve, where students are provided excellent academics with a biblical worldview, character development and leadership training opportunities, and encouragement in cultivating a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We serve a wide diversity of communities in Pierce County with campuses in Frederickson, Puyallup, and rural Sumner/Orting, including three early learning centers, three elementary schools, a junior high, and a high school. Our current enrollment is almost 1,800 students—infants through high school.

Cascade Christian Schools is approved by the Washington State Board of Education and accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) in partnership with Cognia (formerly AdvancED), a national accreditation organization. Cascade Christian Schools is also affiliated with the Washington Federation of Independent Schools (WFIS).

Cascade Christian Schools’ early learning centers and recreation programs are affiliated with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and with Clover Park Technical College for staff training. The Extended Recreation Department also receives training and professional development opportunities through its memberships in the National AfterSchool Association, School’s Out Washington, and the National Recreation and Park Association.

The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families licenses Cascade Christian Schools’ Puyallup and Frederickson Early Learning Centers, both of which operate within the requirements set by that department. Additionally, our Puyallup and Frederickson Early Learning Centers participate in Early Achievers, Washington’s quality rating and improvement system (QRIS) administered by the Department of Early Learning. As an Early Achievers participant, we are demonstrating our commitment to offering high-quality childcare and promoting school readiness.
