The CCS Band Program provides students with opportunities to explore, develop,
and demonstrate their God-given creative potential.

We seek to offer a comprehensive music education at Cascade Christian Schools. Therefore, band students learn much more than how to play an instrument and read music. They learn about music composition, music theory, sight-singing, ear training, and music from other cultures. Students often learn to play more than one instrument.

Elementary

At Cascade Christian Schools, we start band in elementary school. All 6th graders learn to play flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, and/or percussion through a unique program entitled Band for All. Classes are held twice a week during the school year. Instruction and materials are provided, although the students provide their own instruments (with some instruments available on loan through the program). Students in elementary school band participate in a variety of performances, including at their campus Christmas concert and at the All-District Band Concert at the end of the school year. The program at each campus is designed to train students to use their gifts to glorify God.

Junior High and High School

Junior high and high school students can choose from the following classes:

  • Concert Band
  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Jazz Band

Classes are a mix of grades 7–12, with students placed according to instrument played and ability level, and they perform at band concerts during the school year as well as various jazz and concert band festivals.
